Yesterday two people quit working at the marijuana dispensary and I have been working a lot of overtime since then, however there were a lot of shifts that needed to be covered, because the boss had to look for replacements and the new hires needed to go through a background check before they could start working at the marijuana dispensary, and during the week that the two people quit, I had 65 hours.
- I worked six afternoons out of seven and then another five afternoons in a row before I had a cut again.
It was the highest paycheck that I ever had working at the marijuana dispensary. The next week I had 60 hours in the week then I had 58 hours. It does not look like I am going to be getting much more overtime at the marijuana dispensary, because there are two new people that were hired and they are going to be starting on Monday; Monday is the busiest afternoon of the week and I have no idea why my boss and the supervisor of the store decided to start the new people on the busiest afternoon. It’s going to be strenuous enough to keep up with all of the clients, pickups, and deliveries, separate from having to babysit a couple of new recruits. Since there are going to be two extra people working in the store, I thought about calling the boss and telling him that I am sick. It’s not like I haven’t received taking a afternoon off after working all of the extra hours to make sure that the shifts are covered.
