Two weeks ago, the owner of the marijuana dispensary told me that every single person has to start working weekends.
I used to let the crew pick when they wanted their schedule, but lately it has been hard to get people to work on Friday and Saturday nights.
I tried to tell all of the employees that they were going to have to start picking up chefs or I was going to be forced to make people work when they did not want to. Nobody picked up the shifts that were available so 2 weeks ago the owner of the marijuana dispensary told me to start scheduling every single person to work every other weekend. Three of my crew members quit when they found out that they were going to have to start working on the weekends. I knew that the employees were going to be upset about the new rules at the marijuana shop, but I didn’t think three people would quit. The boss told me to start looking at new candidates as quickly as possible just in case we had more crew members quit over the next couple of days. I found a couple of people that were good looking candidates, but they turned out to be a bust. I have two guys that are coming in for an interview this week. One of the guys used to work as a budtender in another city. I’m sure I will hire that guy as long as he can pass the criminal background check. The other guy I am not 100% sure about.
