When COVID hit a lot of people were out of work.
Servers, haircutters, people involved in tourism, etcThey really struggled.
I was very fortunate that I had to work from home. I work for an SEO business. We make websites for different companies and help them rank on google. Most of our business is either HVAC or cannabis dispensary owners. Thankfully the pandemic didn’t affect these two businesses too much. HVAC businesses were okay since a lot of people were looking at investing in their air quality. They were buying air purifiers, HEPA filters and getting ductwork cleaning. All of it was in hopes of stopping airborne viruses. The cannabis dispensaries just started offering cannabis delivery and curbside pickup. So nobody went without their cannabis products or risked themselves during the pandemic. I still have to hold down my job. These people still needed their websites taken care of, they wanted internet marketing so people could find them. More and more customers were on social media too. They still required posting. What was great is that my job didn’t require me to drive anywhere or interact with people. So I got to work my same hours, make good money and I was safe the whole time too. I am one of the only people I know that actually didn’t get the virus. I safely holed up in my home for almost a year. I only had to leave when I felt like it. I could work, get groceries and use an online bank. There was never a reason to go anywhere.
