They just raised marijuana crops

I was born and raised in the traditional family style house, 100 miles from the closest fire station or police station. My family were subsistence livers, which means they subsisted off the land for all of their needs, plus didn’t deal with society at all. There were sizable gardens plus fields for growing produce, which the people I was with and I lived on, plus sold the excess for extra money. When the people I was with and I needed fruit, we decided to go planning different trees and vines. My parents were both smokers, but grew their own tobacco to smoke from hand made corn cob pipes! Later on, I discovered they also grew and smoked tons of cannabis from those same pipes after the children had gone to bed. All the little extras around the home that I took for granted had been provided by our folks selling cannabis, which was a profitable currency crop. They weren’t cannabis dealers or cannabis farmers, just typical folks who grew a few dozen cannabis plants to sell to their friends plus neighbors. I would come to find out that several upstanding members of the local area, including religious folk, firemen, plus cops, bought marijuana from our folks. Looking at it through that idea, our family was providing a community service by nicely, quietly growing and selling marijuana to the nice people who needed it. Of course I had no plan about any of this when I was growing up, I never learned about the marijuana growing until I came back from college. After seeing this, I never had to buy our own cannabis ever again, our parents would hook me up with a pound whenever I saw them.
