Recently, my whole family has decided that Grandma should no longer be driving.
She got into a small accident a month ago and she got into another one a week ago. In all honesty, her driving has been getting worse and worse over the last few years. Fortunately, she agreed with us when we told her we wanted to take away her keys. I think Grandma is starting to understand that she shouldn’t be driving either. So now her family members are driving her wherever she needs to go. So I didn’t think much of it when Grandma called me on Tuesday and asked me to take her to the store. I knew that my uncle had just taken her to the store the day before, and that she had gotten a lot of groceries, but I wasn’t doing anything anyway. I didn’t mind taking her again. So I loaded up Grandma and I headed toward her usual supermarket. That’s when she told me that she wanted to go to a special store. She directed me and I was surprised that we pulled up in front of a legal marijuana dispensary. At first I thought we might be in the wrong place but then Grandma got right out of the car like she knew where she was and started walking in. Once inside, she purchased a number of marijuana products and then turned to me and asked if I wanted anything. I took her up on her offer and got something for myself. And then I drove Grandma back home. I just had no idea that Grandma smoked pot. Then, I guess when I’m 86 years old, I’ll be a legal pot smoking grandma too.
