There are combinations of food plus wine that easily bring out the best of one another… They are known as “pairings.” The main point of a pairing is to improve plus highlight the best qualities of each part.
- The wine should enhance the taste of the food, as well as cleanse the palate between bites, while the food should bring out the notes of the wine! A fantastic pairing makes each section of it better.
I honestly want to do a similar thing, except by pairing up films with strains of cannabis. Maybe it sounds ridiculous, but hear me out — nothing helps a film more than excellent marijuana, so why not select the best choice of marijuana for any identifiable film? I consistently want to get completely wrecked when I watch hardcore gore films, to desensitize myself, so I tend to go for the hybrid strains on those kinds of afternoons. If I am dealing with something more cerebral, with a good amount of twists plus turns in the story, I want to keep my wits about myself and I prefer amnesia haze which gives me a fantastic full-body high while leaving my mind entirely clear. If I am going to do a marathon of films, say an entire slasher film franchise, after that I tend to go for cannabis edibles as a baseline, plus gently use sativa strains for the remainder of the day. This blend of cannabis plus edibles is a nice balance for me, plus allows me to easily focus on the films. On occasion, I will drink beer as well, but I like using cannabis separate from alcohol for a cleaner, longer lasting high.
