I hope we can get cannabis dispensaries back in our area

Back when I used to play in a band, it was really challenging playing gigs in our city.

You’d try to get a full set in before the cops could get the opportunity to show up as well as shut everything down.

They’d bring their decibel meters as well as put them right next to the speaker cones, instead of on the street. Our neighborhood had imposed a noise ordinance that made it essentially impossible for various musicians to perform in the limits of the city. It was rich property owners that lived in high rises above these artist burroughs as well as they didn’t appreciate having noise flowing into their penthouse walls at night. The police were complicit in abusing the statue regularly, using their sound measuring unit in the wrong places to make a site seem substantially louder than it actually was. The thought process is if the noise can’t be heard outside the building, it can’t be charged let alone found by the local police; but, that doesn’t work to stop them. These same conservative property owners have banned cannabis dispensaries within the city limits as well. It’s totally frustrating that all of us who use marijuana as a medication basically will be forced to drive much further in each direction just to get our medicine. Whatever their mindset is, the people pushing for these awful laws are operating within a severely aged point of view! I sincerely hope that the restriction of cannabis dispensaries is eventually lifted so that our area can finally experience what voters across the whole state agreed upon in the last election we had.
