My dad was a glass blower back in the day, a job that I don’t even think they have any longer.
I know that he always told us he got put out of work by the machines, and how automation was ruining the craftsmanship of American work.
I don’t know if any of that is true or not, but I do know that the old man used to do some pretty incredible work. I wasn’t sure if he was cool with marijuana or not, but I thought that he could put his skills to work making custom glassware for my cannabis customers. I am the store manager for a local cannabis dispensary, and along with it we also sell everything a person may need to go along with it. My father’s custom glass work would very much appeal to many of my regular marijuana smokers, and they could fetch top dollar, no doubt. My dad never allowed marijuana in the house, although he drank liquor regularly that seemed to be where he drew the line. He did not support smoking of any kind, be it marijuana or tobacco, so I was pretty sure he wouldn’t want to make bongs and pipes. I was very happy to be wrong, as he ended up being much more open minded about cannabis use now that it was legal. And when I told him how much we could make from selling his work at the cannabis dispensary, he became very interested! I guess that his hard line rule against marijuana smoking only applied to his kids, not other people.
