New position offers benefits for my girlfriend and my kids

For the past three months, my boss has promised to give me a promotion.

I thought he was putting me off, but last weekend he made good on that promise. For the past year, I have been the night time manager for a very busy cannabis dispensary. When I took over the night time manager position, I asked for a raise and benefits. The boss told me that he could give me more money, but only the upper management receives a benefits package. I was really bummed out, but the extra money each hour was a great help. When my boss started talking about a new position a few months ago, I tried not to get excited. I knew it could take months or longer. I was surprised last weekend, when my boss offered me a salary position with benefits. One of the biggest reasons is due to a steady increase in cannabis sales this month. I have more cannabis sales on the night shift than any other manager. I am still going to be working at night, but now I will have the title of assistant manager. I can hire and fire at will, and I also receive bonuses for sales and labor costs. I receive a salary instead of an hourly wage, and I will also be eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits. My girlfriend and our two children will also be eligible for these benefits. Our ten-year-old really needs braces, and we have been very stressed out about how to pay for those orthodontic bills. With the new position and benefits, Brian will have a mouthful of metal in no time.
