I was promoted to a managerial position and moved to a smaller cannabis dispensary.
I was told that the budtenders needed some help and a strong manager to whip them into shape.
The moment I arrived I was upset by the store. The whole place was a mess. At the cannabis dispensary I worked at, it was required to take cannabis dispensary courses. I learned all about how a dispensary should be set up. The space needs to be open and welcoming. The products all must be clearly displayed and the place needs to look clean. I additionally took budtender training courses. I learned how to approach customers, recommend the right products and then back off. I took this course with my entire staff so we all knew how to work together. The moment I walked around in the little dispensary, I knew that is what my staff needed. None of the budtenders worked together. They constantly talked over the other and tried to steal customers from each other. They would push too many products to sell and overwhelm the customers. Additionally, the dispensary was just set up plain wrong. I got the whole staff together and started out with marijuana staff training. The lot of us went every Saturday for a few months and worked together. We learned how to sell and work with one another. I then pushed for us to do a cannabis dispensary course as a group too. We are all much more knowledgeable and a closer group because of doing the course.
