I was promoted to a managerial position & moved to a smaller cannabis dispensary.
I was told that the budtenders needed a good amount of help & a strong manager to whip them into decent shape.
The moment I arrived I was annoyed by the store. The whole locale was a real mess. At the cannabis dispensary I worked at, it was required to take cannabis dispensary courses. I came to learn all about how a dispensary should be set up. The space needs to be open & welcoming. The products all must be clearly featured & the locale needs to look totally clean. I additionally took budtender training courses. I came to learn how to approach customers, suggest the right products & then back away. I took this course with my entire staff so the people I was with and I all knew how to work together. The moment I walked around in the little dispensary, I knew that is what our staff actually needed. None of the budtenders worked together. They consistently talked over the other & made an attempt to steal customers from each other. They would push a bunch of products to sell & overwhelm the customers. Additionally, the dispensary was plain wrong. I got the whole staff together & started out with essential marijuana staff training. The lot of us went every Sunday for a few months & worked together. Every one of us were able to learn how to sell & work with one another. I then pushed for us to do a cannabis dispensary course as a group too. Every one of us are all much more knowledgeable & a much closer group because of attending the course.
