Ben & Jerry’s is a very well-known Vermont-based ice cream manufacturer in the U.S. They offer some quirky names for their several flavors; Half Baked and Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies sound cannabis-inspired. The company is now on a mission to take advantage of the growing popularity of CBD-infused products. They have plans to produce a CBD-infused ice cream. CBD is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that is giving some very beneficial in treating serious health conditions, and many are reporting success when using CBD to combat the symptoms of epilepsy, autism, arthritis, stress, soreness and depression. Although THC has been the primary focus of medical research, cannabidiol is gaining recognition as a type of optimal food and supplement. At the moment it is found in all sorts of everyday consumer products, including seltzer and also in toothpicks. It’s also available in a wide range of delivery methods, like oils, tinctures, creams plus edibles. According to Ben and Jerry executives, there is a very high consumer demand for CBD-infused ice cream. This product is not yet on the market. Despite the recent farm bill and a few other federal legalizations of hemp, CBD is still a hard legal subject to deal with. The US Food plus Drug Administration still vetoes CBD as an additive to food or beverage, some states, however, are entirely ignoring the FDA regulations; For now, Ben & Jerry’s is waiting for CBD additive to be legalized at the global level. Hopefully, this isn’t too far off. The FDA recently held a public hearing on the legalization of CBD-infused foods plus beverages, ben & Jerry’s freely supports the legalization plus has demonstrated past activism. It will be interesting to eventually find out how good CBD-infused ice cream is going to taste.
