Ice cream with CBD now?

Ben & Jerry’s is a world famous, VT-based ice cream manufacturer. They also offer some quirky names for their numerous flavors, and half Baked and Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies seem to be cannabis-inspired. The company is now hoping to take advantage of the growing popularity of CBD-infused things. They have some current plans to produce a CBD-infused ice cream! CBD is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that is proving beneficial in treating dire health conditions, and many are claiming to have had plenty of success when using CBD to combat the symptoms of epilepsy, autism, arthritis, anxiety, addiction and other bad symptoms. Even though THC has been the primary focus of medical research, cannabidiol is gaining recognition as a sort of superfood and supplement, but it’s now discovered in all sorts of everyday consumer products, including seltzer and even toothpicks. It’s also available in a wide range of delivery methods, such as liquids, tinctures, creams and edibles. According to Ben & Jerry executives, there is a consumer demand for CBD-infused treats. This product is not yet on the market; Despite the recent farm bill and federal legalization of hemp, CBD is still a very difficult legal subject in all aspects. The US Food and Drug Administration still prohibits CBD as an additive to food or beverage. Many states are still ignoring the FDA regulations, then for now, Ben & Jerry’s is holding off, waiting for CBD additive to be legalized at the federal level. Hopefully, this isn’t too far off. The FDA just put on a public hearing on the legalization of CBD-infused foods and beverages, but ben & Jerry’s openly supports the legalization and has demonstrated past activism. It is really going to be interesting to find out just how CBD-infused ice cream flavors.
